Gazelle Link utilizes both the internet and the worldwide PSTN (Public-Switched Telephone Network), resulting in immediate cost saving for our customers. Calls using Gazelle Link traverse IP networks primarily which bypasses the higher cost switched-networks.
By utilizing Gazelle Link, telephone costs drop dramatically due to the use of IP networks instead of PSTN.
Example:
A call is attempted from Seattle, Washington to Fort Worth, Texas using the traditional 10 digit calling pattern. Using Gazelle Link, the call travels the majority of the distance from Seattle using an IP network until it reaches the nearest POP (Point of Presence) in Fort Worth. The call is then directed back to the PSTN and completes the call to the intended person. By utilizing IP-based networks, Gazelle Link is able to offer substantially lower costs to our customers since the call is not subject to the incremental costs required of a PSTN only call.
